Embrace the Magic of Reading: An October Reading Challenge for Kids

Hey, children’s book lovers!

As we transition into the cozy embrace of autumn, we are thrilled to introduce the October Reading Challenge brought to you by Stories of a Colorful World, your go-to online children’s bookstore. 📚🍂

Autumn is a season of transformation, and what better way to celebrate its beauty than by diving into captivating stories? Our October Reading Challenge is designed to spark your child’s imagination, nurture their love for books, and make reading a joyful family affair. 🍁✨

These mini-goals are carefully curated to add a sprinkle of magic to your child’s reading routine, all while celebrating the spirit of the season and important cultural observances. 🌟

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the goals we have in store for you:

Autumn Tales: Read a book that takes place during the fall season and highlights the beauty of nature. 📚🍂🍁✨

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage: Read a book featuring a Hispanic main character. Create a piece of art inspired by the book and share it with us!

Spooky Stories Spectacular:  Read a spooky story. If you don’t enjoy scary stories, read a non-spooky book with a traditionally spooky character (like a friendly ghost or a funny monster) After reading it, have your child design their own “spooky” bookmark and post a picture of it online.

We believe that reading is not just a solitary endeavor but a magical journey that can be shared, celebrated, and cherished with loved ones. So, whether you’re snuggled up on the couch with a book, reading under the colorful canopy of autumn leaves, or sharing stories with your family, this October Reading Challenge is designed to make every moment count. 🍂📚

P.S. Don’t forget to share your favorite books with us in the comments below. We love hearing about what you’re reading and what you love about it!

Share your progress with us on social media using the hashtag #SOCWReadingChallenge, and we’ll feature some of our favorites throughout the month. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with! Happy reading!

Kanika Mobley

Hi! I'm Kanika. I'm a mother and 20+ year educator. I started my career as a kindergarten teacher and fell in love with helping kids discover their reading identities. As they asked for certain books, I tried with all my might to keep the classroom library filled with high-engaging books that were both mirrors and windows for their experiences.
